It is very important to have the lump evaluated by a medical physician. This involves a doctor's clinical breast exam followed by a possible mammogram and/or ultrasound. A radiologist will determine if a biopsy of any kind is required. It is important to have any unusual problems (such as nipple discharge or inflammation) evaluated. Breast Cancer Resource Center has a program which provides vouchers for free mammograms to women age 34 and younger who are low-income and without insurance or medical coupons. To access this service, first contact a physician for a breast exam and obtain a Radiology Order Form from that physician. Once you have a Radiology Order Form, visit our office Tuesday through Thursday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. If you have questions or need information re: local community health programs where you can receive a low-cost clinical breast exam, please contact us at (253) 752-4222.
